Single father who hasn't been on a date in more time than I care to admit. Let's start with getting to know each other over tea.

(Please stop calling me a 'DILF'. I'm not sure what that means, and I don't want to know.)

I like to keep things simple.

It would seem offering to meet over a drink (tea or otherwise) is fairly successful.

Usually, I find myself take the opposite approach.

[ Which is probably why his life is a MESSSSSS. ]

Oh good. It's been so long, I was sure there'd be all these new customs and norms to meeting people. At least some things stay the same.

Complicated can sometimes be interesting in the right circumstances.

Well, there are all sorts of customs and expectations, but do you always do what's expected of you?

I try not to make a habit of doing what's expected.

[ Unless what's expected is for him to exhibit POOR DECISION-MAKING SKILLS. In which case he always does what's expected. ]

And yourself?

Neither do I. I don't like being predictable.

Spoken like somebody who enjoys a bit of adventure in life. Is that what brought you to this city?

[gundogs]

Opportunity brought me here. Adventure is just the bonus, though I do have to admit, it's much quieter here than it is back home.

[ But that probably has a lot to do with the fact that Eudio doesn't really have much of a need for secret agents like herself. ]

What about you? Was it adventure?

The opportunity to correct a mistake. I wasn't doing much else with my time, anyway.

Do you miss the excitement of home?

[gundogs]

I would imagine that a single father wouldn't have much spare time to do anything with.

Yes and no. Mostly yes. I suppose I could be a little homesick.

[ Homesick not necessarily for home, but for her life as a Kingsman and all that it entails, perhaps. ]

[ CUE GLOOM AND BITTERNESS. It seems he can only keep the 'nice and normal' thing up for so long. ]

A single father who lost his daughter has an abundance of time.

I suppose that's good. Better than becoming complacent here.

[ He's not quite sure what to say. "It's fine"? It isn't fine, at least, not in the wider scheme of things. He doesn't fault Roxy for her comment, but he doesn't want to pretend he's fine, either. ]

[ Hooow does she fix this? It's not very often that Roxy finds herself in this position - embarrassed and unsure of what to say -, but she's the kind of person to own up to her mistakes and try to make things right when she does overstep or cross lines she may not have seen. ]

Can I at least take you for a cup of tea? As an apology.

You don't have to.

[ But then, as he sends that message-- a reflexive sort of excuse to stay inside with no other company but himself-- he reminds himself that it's hardly her fault that she slipped up like that, and that he needs to be sociable. The sooner he can fulfill his obligations here, the sooner he can get Grace back.

So he sends another message shortly after. ]

Tea would be nice, actually.

[gundogs]

[ She takes his initial response as a kinder way of letting her know he's not interested in any attempts to make it up to him - and that's perfectly fine. He's not obligated to forgive her, regardless of whether or not she was aware of his circumstances, and she doesn't expect anything from him either.

However, she is somewhat pleased with the follow up, because truly, she does feel like kind of a fool either way. ]
